Jack founded Leviathan Advisory Partners (LAP) in 2023 after spending more than a decade advising government and private companies on energy and climate issues.
Jack began his professional career as an investment banking analyst at Lazard in 2012. His first assignment in this role was as part of a team advising the Australian Government on the introduction of an economy-wide carbon tax, and the 'Contracts for Closure' process, which aimed at transitioning Australia's power grid away from coal power. Jack worked at Lazard from 2012-2016, advising a range of government and corporate clients primarily in the energy and infrastructure space.
In 2016, Jack moved to the USA to complete a Master in Public Policy focusing on the reforms required to electricity markets to facilitate the scale-up of renewable energy. His masters paper on this topic was awarded the 2018 Harvard Environmental Economics Prize for best paper in the field of energy, environment and resource economics. While at Harvard, Jack worked as a Research Associate at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and advised the International Committee of the Red Cross on the issuance of its Humanitarian Impact Bond.
From 2019-2021, Jack worked at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in New York where he was responsible for Australia's commercial and investment relationships in the US Northeast. This included tracking the clean transition in financial markets and providing guidance on the development of climate-related financial disclosure requirements.
From 2021-2023, Jack was Corporate Development and Government Affairs Manager at Fortescue Future Industries. Joining the firm in 2021 as the first dedicated US-employee, Jack played a key role in developing the firm's green hydrogen project portfolio in North America.
Jack holds a B.A. and B.Commerce from The University of Melbourne and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Jack lives in Melbourne, Australia.
